MANY VOICES – FESTIVAL INTERCULTUREL DU CONTE DE MONTRÉAL

Métis storyteller and actor Bruce Sinclair and singer Tamar Ilana, of Salteaux-Cree ancestry, share the stage to bring audiences the voices of Indigenous elders, accompanied by Tamar’s original compositions. These voices are filled with beauty tinged with sadness for a world that no longer exists. Most of the words originate from south of the Medicine Line (U.S. border) at a time when war, genocide, forced displacement, greed and power for land wrought havoc on the First Peoples. Hear the words of recognized leaders, such as Sitting Bull and Chief Joseph, as well as others who are now forgotten.
